Shepherds Hut
Lying just off the beaten track, Highway Hill offers the very best in luxury outdoor accommodation; perfect if you want the full ‘sleeping under the stars’ experience without having to know one end of a guy rope from another.
Comprising a trio of cosy, romantic shepherds’ huts and two fully furnished family-sized bell tents, Highway Hill offers luxury, comfort and convenience, in an authentic rural setting.
The three Shepherds’ Huts are perfect for couples. Cotton bedding, wood-burning stoves, Chloe and Perdita have well-equipped kitchens with Gabriel Oak having a more rustic feel with outdoor cooking facilities. The huts make a natural choice for those seeking a cosy, romantic retreat.
Bell Tent
The bigger Bell Tents (sleeping up to four people) are perfect for families or groups of friends. Festooned with fairy lights and with thoughtful touches like vintage trunks and warm comfy throws so you will feel as snug as a bug, even on cooler evenings. Or you can retreat to the safari tent and light the woodburner, and snuggle up on the sofa’s.
The Safari Tent
The Safari Tent is Highway Hill’s fantastic area for our Bell Tent guests; a 5×9 metre safari-style tent that provides an extra spacious, yet cosy environment for you to relax in. Perfect for family meals, socialising, playing board games or just hanging out, it contains a small but well-equipped kitchen, dining tables, a living area with three comfy sofas and a wood burning stove to keep you warm on chilly nights. There is also a covered deck for you to enjoy a sundowner (after your kids have gone to bed) or somewhere shady to sit in the heat of the day.
Access to the Safari Tent is included in a Bell Tent booking and is the perfect space for families or groups of friends to hang out, cook together or to chill with a cuppa or a glass of wine, whilst the kids play. This space is exclusive to bell tent guests, as these do not have their own cooking facilities.
It’s also worth mentioning that the whole site at Highway Hill can be booked exclusively so, if you are a larger group of family or friends, it means you get the whole place to yourselves. The only thing you’ll have to worry about is who gets to sleep where!
When it comes to home-comforts, proper hot water showers, disabled-friendly toilets. You will also find thoughtful little extras like a hammock, high-chairs, cots and games for children (and adults). However, the attention to detail doesn’t end there; basic provisions, from tea, coffee and porridge oats to lanterns and linen, are supplied making your luxury stay at Highway Hill, superb value.
